Although I am not of the “latest technology” camp (I programmed in Ada83 for many years and even liked it), I still try to understand what technologies are around, how they work, and most important, how can they help me get my job done better.
But with the advent of the internet, the “anyone can be a programmer” times, it has become very hard to keep up. And there is nothing better for the soul that seeing (actually reading) others suffering from the same problems. I somehow arrived at this blog post in the Zemanta technical blog (Hey guys, great product!), which is nice, but the best part is the comment by Eran Medan, which goes something like this:
“I agree, I can’t keep up, I just finished learning backbone.js and now I’m found out on that its old news, and I should use ember.js, cross that, it has opinions, I should use Meteor, no, AngularJS, no, …[insert here the names of another thousand JavaScript frameworks/new programming languages/services]… I’ve had it…”
Eran, you would have taken the words out of my mouth if I had known these protocols/languages/frameworks. But I don’t. So thank you for your words.
