Bad UX – On Purpose

Today LinkedIn asked me if I wanted to add my GMail contacts as connections. Why not… This is the screen I got:

linkedin.all.selected

Ok, but I don’t want to add all of my contacts… there are many people there I don’t even know… So I deselected “select all”, and this is what I got:

linkedin.some.selected

Do you see the text shown in the contacts that are not selected? It is almost impossible to read because it is a gray color over a blue background… So for us with bad eyesight we have to select each person just to read who they are. And this is so bad that just makes you want to either select all or none, but nothing in the middle.

Interesting if this was done on purpose or not…
